Spring Breakers

I know it might not feel like it, but spring break is approaching fast. The holidays just ended, so needless to say, our bank accounts are suffering a little bit. If you are fortunate enough to escape to somewhere warm for break, here are some nice-weather necessities for your trip. As always, every item is under $50 which means more mojitos! Hope this gives you some ideas on what and how to pack. Happy travels!

Swimsuits

Nobody really likes shopping for swimwear, but ASOS makes it as easy and painless as possible. First, their selection is huge and is really fashion-forward. Another plus is that they have a wide variety of sizes, including options for women with larger chests or who wear plus sizes. In addition to the great selection and size options, shipping is free when you spend $40 and returns are free as well. No more trying on in a dimly lit dressing room with wonky mirrors. All the picks above are from ASOS, but seriously check out the site because there are lots more styles sure to fit anyone's taste.

Coverups

from left to right: JC Penny - $19.99 (reg. $40.00), Macy's - $48.00, Target - $24.99, Macy's - $48.00

What's a good bikini without a cute coverup? I'm really into ones that you can wear straight from the beach to a casual lunch spot. By adding some fabulous accessories, you can skip changing in a disgusting bathroom or traveling back to your hotel. The ones above are perfect pieces for this, especially the black maxi dress. You are guaranteed to wear it all break long. To find the perfect coverup, choose ones without see-through material and great detailing.

Wedges

from left to right: Target - $20.98 (reg. $29.99), DSW - $29.94, Payless - $39.99

Nothing says spring break and warm weather like breaking out those open-toed wedges. Wedges are great shoes for when you want to dress-up a bit, but keep it low-key. Make sure to pack a pair for when you go out to dinner or a night-out. There are so many options out there, so whether you like to keep it neutral or wear bright colors and prints you will be set for your trip.

Beach Bag Essentials

hat - H&M $12.99, sunglasses - Target $14.99, portable charger - Kate Spade $49.99, magazines - Cosmopolitan $12.00/year, sandals - Havaianas $32.00, towel - Vera Bradley $35.00, tinted moisturizer - Clinique $27.00, water bottle - S'well $42.00, lip balm - Eos $3.49, hair brush - Wet Brush $11.99, swimsuit bag - Vera Bradley $38.00, coconut oil - OGX $7.99

I always seem to miss packing something into my beach bag, but here I've outlined some must-haves for dealing with the sand and waves. The most important picks from above are the skin and lip care because nobody wants a painful sunburn or chapped lips. Be sure to use regular sunscreen on the rest of your body though! Skin cancer is not a good look. Another useful item is the swimsuit bag from Vera Bradley. Putting your wet suit in this will keep the rest of your belongings dry and sand-free. To keep yourself entertained and give yourself more time relaxing, pack a couple magazines and a portable cell phone charger.

Get the Look - Natalie Dormer edition

I love scouring the internet for celebrity looks that normal people can wear and not look absolutely ridiculous. Seriously, wear half of what Kim Kardashian wears and and you're bound to get some crazy looks. When I saw this picture of Natalie Dormer promoting her new movie, The Forest, I immediately thought of numerous occasions where this look would work. Throwing on a fun, printed blazer over an all-black ensemble is a stylish way to add some color and "pop" to your look. If you think a print is too much for you, then opt for a bright or unexpected color, like the baby blue one below.
